Meet the Pastors

I Will Give You Pastors According To Mine Heart, Which Shall Feed You With Knowledge And Understanding. — Jeremiah 3:15

    Pastor Ed

    Edward F. Pfundstein

    Senior Pastor

Edward Pfundstein became a member of RLCC in 1982. While preparing to attend Bible school, he clearly understood the Lord’s direction that his ministerial training would take place as he served and studied under the teaching ministry of RLCC’s founding Pastors, Clinton and Sarah Utterbach.

Highly skilled in information systems, Pastor Ed’s obvious strong suit was his innate aptitude to analyze, evaluate, and effectively develop systems to facilitate the operational needs of a leading utilities company. When he responded to the call of God, Pastor Ed entered the ministry as a “doorkeeper in the house of the Lord,” and like a Joshua, he remained close and served faithfully. Eventually leaving his successful management career to serve in the ministry full time, he advanced quickly into the role of RLCC’s Media Director, overseeing radio, audio/video/lighting production and information systems for the ministry. In 2005, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of RLCC.

In 2006 he was installed by Pastor Sarah as a co-pastor. Pastor Ed’s desire is to strengthen believers in the knowledge of who they are in Christ, in order to build and deepen their individual relationship with the Lord as well as with their family and others. Through the advanced use of technology, Pastor Ed is intently following the Spirit of God in moving forward to enlarge and extend the scope of RLCC’s effectiveness in the Kingdom of God.

    Pastor Greg

    Gregory L. Carr

    Senior Pastor

Gregory Carr became a member of RLCC in 1985. His ministerial training was acquired through varied experiences in a wide range of roles in the ministry of helps. In 2004, he and his wife Phyllis were ordained as deacons. In 2006, he was appointed to the Board of Directors and, along with Pastor Pfundstein, Pastor Greg was installed as co-pastor by Pastor Sarah Utterbach.

Pastor Greg learned to serve faithfully and to lead graciously during his varied experiences as a host, wedding coordinator, academic administrator, and director of youth ministry. He also cultivated a special rapport with young people which continues to bear tremendous fruit, as he encourages, nurtures, and mentors them to embrace the power of a consecrated life.

Pastor Greg’s notable commitment to young people and building solid families is evident in his teaching not only at RLCC but also for other churches and ministry youth groups. His messages often address identity, purity, dating, and walking in spiritual authority. But Pastor Greg’s devotion to family is more than a message — it’s a lifestyle. Married for more than 25 years, he and his wife have four children and 12 grandchildren. Focused on the Author and Finisher of the plan of God for RLCC, Pastor Greg is committed to equipping this generation to know their God and, therefore, to be strong and to do exploits in His Name.

    The Founders

I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I, send me. - Isaiah 6:8

    Founding Pastors

A burning commitment to follow and to please God was the motivation that stirred Clinton and Sarah Utterbach to answer the call of God on their lives.

Their obedience to the call resulted in them making a life-changing decision in 1979 to leave successful careers, home, and family in order to attend RHEMA Bible Training Center. More importantly, their obedience resulted in countless souls, bodies, marriages, and lives being changed for good by the power of God because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which the Utterbachs had committed their lives to proclaim.

The Utterbachs founded Redeeming Love Christian Center in their home in 1980, but within only a few months, they needed to relocate to a larger facility. Eventually, they outgrew that location and knew they would need a building large enough to accommodate the people God was adding to their church. When God guides, He provides. Five years after their first home meeting in Hackensack, New Jersey, the Utterbachs and the RLCC congregation moved into the church's current location in Nanuet, from which they launched a school and a media ministry, while the Lord added to the church daily. In 2002, they expanded to include another church campus in the Poconos.

After a prolonged illness, Clinton Utterbach fell asleep in Jesus in 2005, but the vision he carried lives on. Today, Senior Pastor Emeritus Sarah Utterbach and co-pastors, Edward Pfundstein and Gregory Carr remain in step with the Spirit of God as the vision continues to unfold. In this new season, the pastors and congregation of Redeeming Love Christian Center are enthusiastically moving forward to fulfill their mandate to reach the lost, equip the Church, strengthen families, and to usher in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
